As Wikipedia explains “April 1 is the 91st day of the year (92nd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 274 days remaining until the end of the year”.
But it is much more: it’s the April Fools’ Day!
Yesterday, as every year, a lot of big tech and digital companies took advantage of this event to make funny pranks. We’ve selected the best 2015 ones:
1) PAC MAN occupies Google Maps
In this picture PAC MAN is catching ghosts around Eggtronic Headquarter
Maybe you remember that during 2014 April Fools’ Day Google Maps had been popolated by Pikachu, Magikarp, Snorlax and other Pokemon creatures.
This year the Google Maps team chose to let their geek users play again, letting the 8-bit videogames’ hero PAC MAN visit their maps.
2) The OnePlus drone
OnePlus is a Chinese start-up, that in 2014 has joined the smartphones market with the OnePlus One. Thanks to its features (3GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a Quad-Core 2,5GHZ processor, a 13 megapixels camera, etc.) and its competitive price (349$) OnePlus One is also known as The Flagship Killer: a title that let’s its producer communicate in an ironic way on company’s official channels.
They’ve chose the irony way yesterday too, announcing the first OnePlus drone: the ONEPLUS DR-1 DRONE!
Few days ago OnePlus has announced that in April the games would have changed.
And they’ve effectively changed, with a tiny drone introduction in the Accessories page of the OnePlus website.
The drone has been truly sold on OnePlus website, and had an introducing website.
PS: you can charge the OnePlus One and the drone too with HUB IT!
3) You’ll never more forget to buy the detergent, thanks to Amazon Dash
We don’t know if it actually is a prank, but yesterday Amazon introduced a strange and useful product: a little device that, by wi-fi, allows to buy product with just a click.
You can put it near to your toothbrush, to your washing machine, or to your coffee maker, to don’t forget to buy the toothpaste, the detergent or the coffee capsules.
4) A time travel, with Amazon
Yesterday the www.amazon.com homepage was the 1st April 1999 one.
